This beauty is a Rancho saddle, ca. 1938.   It has a rawhide wrapped heavy wooden tree (totally intact - excellent condition).  It is in great shape, excellent condition. 

It's an old roping saddle, and has been restored to beautiful condition.

 

This saddle has a unique pommel,  extra wide with deeply undercut swells.  We have been using it to break colts, but now that we are not breaking horses anymore, it is ready for someone else to break the next generation of colts.

 

The seat is a "hard seat" with leather groundseat, 15".  This saddle has old style "overleathers" on the fenders,  I find this very attractive.

 

It also has a 4" cantle, deep, secure seat.

 

This saddle has no carving, it is totally plain, except for the Montana Silver conchos that I put on it when I restored it and restringed it.  (These may be removed upon request.)

The maker's mark is barely legible, but I've tried to show it here for authentication.

 

It has 3/4 "on the tree" double flat plate rigging, the rigging is solid.

 

This is another priceless gem!
