We have a few rules at LB Ranch, involving saftety issues. The
rules are as follows: Riders must wear boots with a heel of at least 1.5 cm. (Cowboy boots are the ideal, but any
shoe or boot with a heel will do). Absolutely no runners, track shoes, or sandals will be allowed
for prospective riders.
Riders
are encouraged to wear safety helmets, at all times when working around the horses, or riding the horses. Riders under
the age of eighteen (18) uears MUST wear helmets or have written parental consent for non-use of
a helmet.
Always leave gates as you found them, and respect others'
property by not riding on the farm fields unless otherwise permitted.
Important
to Remember:
Since we
do not have indoor riding facilities, you need warm clothes to ride in the "balmy" Manitoba winter weather. (Sorels or other
heavy warm boots are recommended, as well as layering of clothing, and a good, warm hat and mitts or gloves.)
We have
2 outdoor arenas, one round pen (for training and beginning lessons), 2X40 acre pastures, which we rotate throughout the spring,
summer, fall and winter.
There are also many interesting trails to ride on in all seasons.
Our barn has a thirty
horse capacity. We offer: 7 Box stalls, the rest are standing (tie) stalls.
As previously stated,
we bring the horses in for the night, and if the weather is very cold, with high windchills, we turn them all out for a drink
of water and to stretch their legs, while we clean the barn, re-bed and then bring them right back in again.
